Welcome to The Stitching Thread, an online thread for my cross stitch designing endeavors. I am an Illustrator and Needlecraft Designer and run a cross stitch design company called Medeiros Needlecraft Design. I hope to use this forum as a means to share my design process, ideas and thoughts relating to designing needlework. When designing, I like for my creations to tell a story in some way. Needlework is a link to the past when a person beholds a piece of stitchery. Sometimes it tells a story of the person who stitched it, perhaps a beloved family member. Sometimes the piece is an expression of love from the stitcher to a cherished person in their lives. Either way, a story is told and this wonderful art form becomes the means of sharing our stories with one another. Welcome to my thread.
Work your initials or name and the date into a corner area of your stitching. If your work is to be given as a gift, work the recipient's name or initials into the piece on the opposite side. This adds to the personal charm of a handmade needlework piece, especially as the years pass or the item is handed down through the generations.
