Morning

Of all the visitors to my bird feeders this winter, the Tufted Titmouse is my favorite. We have a little alcove with a brick patio out back. I keep two small feeders on either side of the house in this alcove to attract smaller birds and keep the squirrels away. Birds have become accustomed to this setup and visit regularly. Black capped Chickadees and the Tufted Titmouse are the most frequest visitors to the feeder this time of year. Squirrels make the rounds as well, but they cannot get to the seeds, only those that fall on the ground.
We were treated this cold, crisp morning to a wonderful sunrise. The birds were happy to see the feeders filled up with seed and I had the opportunity to see their antics and enjoy a cup of coffee. They love to taunt Duncan, our pup, by flying close to him on the way to the feeder, knowing that he is inside. He sits by the window and keeps an eye on the birds waiting for the squirrels. It is a weekend routine with us. Nice, quiet time of day.

I’ve nominated your blog for the “You Make My Day” award: http://csnews.blogdrive.com/archive/249.html . I thought I should let you know.
Hi Melinda,
I have not had one of those birds but we get lots of woodpeckers, finches, blue jays, chickadees and a pair of cardinals at our feeder. A week or two ago I was treated to the sight of a pileated woodpecker on the tree stump at the back of the property. I sure hope he comes back because he was a sight to behold!
