Distance

I have picked many of the colors that I want for my new cross stitch sampler, but I am having second (and third) thoughts about the fabric. I have plotted all the necessary stitches and colors into my stitch program so at least the framework has been done. It doesn’t help, really, that colors on the monitor don’t look like the actual threads. You can get a general idea of what the design will look like, but it leaves alot to be desired. This is the root of my fabric dilemma at the moment.
Now, I’m at the point where I just have to walk away from it for a while. I begin to second guess myself. A bit of distance and time always puts a fresh spin on it and leads me to a better solution. Works like a charm for me every time. This is why I stitch all my own needlework projects. I find along the way that certain colors just aren’t blending well together and new ones need to be worked in. Portions of the composition need to find new balance to make the design whole. When it is ready, I am really looking forward to stitching this sampler, when my needle can begin to dance. It really tells a lovely story and I look forward to the time I can share more of it with you.
