Stitching Necessaries
December 8, 2007 by Melinda
My designing has lately been drawn to small, functional items that can be put to use in needlework. It is a wonderful feeling of accomplishment to finish a needlework piece and still better yet to put to use that item in daily stitching. Much of my focus and intent in the coming months for designing will be for the small stitching necessaries and accessories. I want to focus my energy on creating needlework pieces that are unique and personal to the stitcher, but equally, and most importantly, of use.
I love to begin a project and then to see the transformation from concept to completed task. It is an interesting journey to go on. The current piece that I am stitching has already undergone drastic changes from what I envisioned at the start. I have to remember to take good notes as I go along so that my instructions reflect what I have worked. I typically have a few projects brewing at the same time and, as such, need to separate the process for each one. My list of projects for the start of next year has been set and I look forward to an early release for a few with great anticipation.
I am at the half-way mark in my needlework blogging journey this year. I have enjoyed posting my online journal and design thoughts since June and I have been pleasantly surprised by the readership it has gained. This has been a large part of my needlework designing journey as well, to explain how it is that I come up with inspiration and ideas. Thank you for your readership and be sure to add this blog to your own blogroll, technorati favorites, del.icio.us, stumbleupon, digg or other favorites listing. Many interesting needlework projects are to come for 2008, I promise!
