Giving Thanks
November 20, 2007 by Melinda
I like Thanksgiving Day a lot. It is about family and friends, good food (especially the pie!), laughter and watching the Macy’s parade on TV in the morning. It is the nicest of holidays because it gently reminds us about those things that matter the most - spending time with those we love - because we really ought to do this more often.
It is a nice tradition to give thanks for the blessings in our lives. I thought it only appropropriate to share my thanks to those in the needlearts that have given me so many things to be thankful for. Here are a few things I am thankful for:
I am thankful for the many people that have shown me such kindness and generosity in the needlearts. It is a wonderful community to be a part of.
I am thankful for the opportunities given me this year allowing me to do what it is I truly love to do - share my design ideas and passion for the needlearts with others.
I am thankful for the people who have shared their stories with me and allowed a design of mine to become a part of their lives and families. I am truly honored and grateful.
I am thankful for my dog because he reminds me daily of the need to play and to take a walk no matter the weather. He keeps me excercising by giving me his soulful, silent looks when I am spending too much time stitching.
I am thankful for my family because they provide endless inspiration, laughter, moral support and energy. I could not have done any of this needlework venture without them. I’m off to gather supplies for some pies! I have special requests for two pumpkin and one apple pie.
Happy Thanksgiving to all
