Painting with my Needle
November 11, 2007 by Melinda
A while ago, I received an assortment of the new DMC Color Variations embroidery floss colors. I put them aside for a bit in order to finish up other tasks, but finally found the time to put together a design using a few of them. I have had the most enjoyable week working with a selection of these threads in the new design. The Color Variations have a vibrant palette of color that blends very well with the use of the solid color selections. It’s like watercolor painting with my needle.
About my new cross stitch design, well, I can’t say too much, except that it is finished. Our incredible Fall here on Cape Cod has finally started to be replaced with colder temperatures. We have had a dramatic burst of color in the leaves before they make their way off the trees and float to the ground. The chrysanthemums are still going strong in the garden. I designed a little something with the memory of flowers from my spring garden in mind. I’m not quite ready for the cold weather just yet even though it is here to stay for quite some time.
