National Children’s Book Week
November 4, 2007 by Melinda
November 12 - 18, 2007 is National Children’s Book Week. Celebrate by encouraging a child to set aside time each day for reading. Make a visit to your local library and spend time reading with a child. It will foster a life-long love of learning and reading in his or her life. Better yet, please visit Jen Funk Weber’s website to learn about her Stitching for Literacy Bookmark Challenge. Jen is a needlework designer and children’s author who has an innovative and thoughtful program for stitchers to cross stitch bookmarks. Perhaps by combining beautiful needlework book marks with a childrens book, this will also encourage a child to want to learn about and explore cross stitching and needlework. I think it will.
