Autumn

The girls and I spent the weekend outside as much as possible. The weather was just wonderful. Saturday we took a trip to find our pumpkins and found three very nice ones. I put some time in raking up some leaves. Sunday was our big day for carving. I worked on another area of leaves and they helped me clean up some branches. Having help always makes the task go much quicker and it is always much more fun with them.
I had the girls figure out faces that they might like on their pumpkins and they scooped out all the gooey insides. They came up with happy, smiley faces so I chose a scarier face for mine in the middle. It was quickly dubbed “Big Meanie”. They are looking forward to Halloween so very much. We’ll decorate more as the 31st gets a little closer.

I love the pumpkins, they look fantastic together.
Hi Mindi,
Thanks, it was fun working on these jack-o-lanterns with the kids. We had a nice day. It might be nice to scout around and find a few small ones to put into a group, but I’ll see what the kids say about getting their hands gooped up again! Thanks for your thoughts!

Love that cat pumpkin! That’s the type of face I usually choose to carve
Good catch on the cat Monique! My daughter is proud of her cat pumpkin. The other is a piggy minus the ears and curly tail.
Love those pumpkins and the smiley pumpkins are wonderful. Really love the cat. Boy, fall and Halloween are here. It seems to have arrived so quickly
