Busy Bees Needlebook
October 11, 2007 by Melinda
Overall it has been a nice week, though I’ve been sidelined a bit with a cold and didn’t feel like posting. I made some very good progress on my Busy Bees needlework project. As promised, here is a picture of one of the projects - the needlebook- an inside view. This and the biscornu are my favorites of the set. It is coming along nicely.
Next Tuesday, I am looking forward to visiting with the ladies and gentlemen at the Cape Cod Chapter of the EGA. Two years ago, I was invited to give a talk on my design process and was delighted to make the acquaintance of this wonderful group. While displaying many of my cross stitch designs that day, I had also brought along a crazy quilt and crazy quilt pillow for a “show and tell”. This quilt had been a project of mine to learn a variety of stitches and use a variety of threads and fibers on a project in which I set no limitations for myself. I just had fun learning and went where my needle took me. I suggested it to the group as an easy project to practice new stitches. Well, to my delight, they have done just that! The Fall project with this guild is a correspondence course on crazy quilts available through the EGA. I look forward to seeing them again and sharing a wonderful day together.

Thanks for the pic! I was reading about it and scrolling back and back to look for pictures and couldn’t find any. What are the little rings for?
And also, congratulations on playing with crazy quilting. That’s my favorite thing - to go where I want and do what I want, to have variety in my stitching. I love it!
Hi Susan,
The rings are knitting stitch holders. I used these in the needlebook to hold small skeins of embroidery floss or sections of floss that you are currently stitching with.
Thanks for your posts!
