Busy Bee Needlework Accessories
October 2, 2007 by Melinda
Done! I completed all the cross stitching and assembled the needlebook today. In addition to the needlebook, the set includes a biscornu, scissor tag, small Nantucket basket pincushion and stitch band for a Nantucket basket. I am pleased at how the “Busy Bee Needlework Accessories” turned out as a set.
My next task is to take my notes and put them in order, edit my cross stitch charts and instructions for any errors or omissions, create stitch diagrams, photograph the models and, most importantly, create the layout for a small book. My goal is to publish this as a collection of designs in a spiral bound book format. No time line is set for this process. As this stage progresses, I will be able to predict a more accurate release date for the book.
As I was stitching over the weekend, I had the thought of another set that might do well in this same format: Strawberries. I tentatively formed a working name called “Strawberry Fields” in remembrance of John Lennon. The work for a second needlework accessories set would actually go much faster, as the finishing instructions will be much the same. It is on my list of projects to work on this coming year.
This week I will go back to my rough draft of my “Apple Pie” design that I spoke of earlier in the summer. I have had a good amount of time in between doing the rough sketch and now to be able to pick up any composition changes that need to be made. I do have the fabric already selected for this design: 28 count Tile Blue Jazlyn by Zweigart. By the way, we baked our first apple pie of the Fall season this past Sunday. My girls put all the ingredients together, and I rolled out the crust. The pie did not last long at all and I had requests all around to bake another.
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day!
