Biscornu
August 28, 2007 by Melinda
I have had two squares of fabric neatly tucked away in a drawer for some time now. The designs are stitched in petit point on a lavendar fabric with a single deep purple floss color, they have remained unfinished. I finally pulled them out of the drawer over the weekend to assemble them into a biscornu.
I found stitching the biscornu surprisingly easy to do and the two separate pieces fit together very nicely with the contrasting designs.
I have a glass jar on my desk filled with vintage buttons. I chose two swirly, purple buttons for the centers.
I think that I will follow a similar concept with a biscornu for my honeybee needlework project, though not in petit point. I like the idea of contrasting light and dark as it creates a nice effect.
