Welcome Home Sampler
August 24, 2007 by Melinda
I have had a very productive week with needlework related tasks. My frame finally came in from the frame shop and I laced and mounted my completed “Welcome Home Sampler” for Habitat for Humanity. I had a small set back with this project as the initial frame and matte I ordered was cut the wrong size. The presentation of the sampler will most likely take place in September at the house dedication ceremony. I am thankful to be able to take part in this wonderful organization, even if in a small way. One sampler down and five more to go!
I finished my honeybee stitch band for my nantucket basket project yesterday. I am pleased with it. The next task will be to design a needlebook and pincushion to accompany the band. I find it very challenging to design with the kids around during the summer so I don’t foresee putting much work into it until they go back to school. I did receive some samples of The Gentle Art Simply Wool and I will have to find a way to use these. They are SO very soft and I love the palette of colors. I hope they continue with more colors as I can foresee using these in many designs to come.
