Beads, Beads, and more Beads

Hopelessly curious and inquisitive… when it come to crafting, sometimes I feel like the kid in the candy shop… so many cool things to try. I visited the 11th Annual Cape Cod Bead Show today. I chatted with one of the vendors there about beading and marveled at her work. She was having a great show and commented on how many people are new to beading - me included. Many needlecrafts such as knitting, crochet, and tatting are incorporating beads into their patterns. I admit my reason for visiting the show was to see some of her pressed glass beads for future cross stitch designs.
I know many items can be viewed on the internet and in catalogs, but it is an entirely different thing to see items up-close so that you can examine the subtleties of color and texture. I had recently received some catalogs through the mail, but it was by holding the glass beads in my hands that I actually made my choices.
