Daydreaming
August 16, 2007 by Melinda
I love morning best. It is a nice, peaceful time of day, especially to hear the crickets in the background. I got an early start and headed out to water my garden. Everything is so crispy, dry. My Black-eyed Susans and Echinacea are the only ones thriving. I saw the honeybees are hard at it. Did you know that a typical honeybee travels about 500 miles visiting flowers and gathering pollen? The poor little wings just wear out after that.
While out in the garden, I daydreamed a bit. I have been mulling over next year’s Christmas stocking for some time now and finally decided upon it. Definitely a Santa stocking. I have the picture in my mind and I will soon begin to get it down on paper. The other thing I daydreamed about was my Welcome Home Sampler. I got a call from the frame shop yesterday that my matte and frame are in. Today’s task will be to lace up the back on foamcore and frame it. I hope to post a photo of the finished piece soon. My GAST threads came in the mail yesterday and I will finally be able to put my needle to work on my honeybee project. My Brecks’s catalog came in the mail yesterday as well. I daydreamed about where to put some more daffodils for next Spring.
Now off to work!
