Gardening II
July 19, 2007 by Melinda
I have to admit that I have never had much luck with vegetable and food gardens. Oftentimes, all I succeed in doing is providing some tasty treats to my visiting garden friends the rabbits and birds. I have a patch of raspberry canes that I have all but given up on. They are in a bad spot where they don’t receive the sunlight they need and I really don’t have a place to move them to. Even our family dog can be seen over in the patch quietly nibbling off the raspberries when they ripen. He’s sneaky! As for my other gardening efforts, I much rather enjoy seeing the birds than to frighten them away. With this in mind, I came up with my “Harvest Welcome” cross stitch design which can be seen on my site’s homepage http://www.needlecraftdesign.com . I hope you’ll take a peak at it to see how I weave my experiences into my designs.
I actually designed this one last summer and stitched it last Fall. I just never got around to sewing the Prairie point edging until recently to finish it up. Anyways, it turned out to be a nice lesson on choosing fabric colors with my girls and showing them how to make prairie points.
