I found a wonderful, old edition printed in 1939 of Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton today. I read this a number of years ago and look forward to reading it again soon. Over this past winter, I read The Age of Innocence and The Buccaneers by Ms. Wharton. She is a favorite author of mine.
I was hoping to find an old edition of anything by Jane Austen or Thomas Hardy, but I was unable to find any today. This sale is set up with limited table space under the great tents and, as room is made from books being sold, more are placed upon the tables. It changes from day to day. It is a wonderful fund raiser for our Library and receives alot of support from our year round population as well as our traveling visitors to the Cape Cod area.
I find that this isn’t the year for craft/art books. All are unboxed and out. I am happy to have made my knitting find yesterday! Today I did find an interesting book called The Apron Book by Ellyn Anne Geisel. I have seen it recently in my craft book club newsletters. I added this to my collection as I love to cook and the sewing projects look easy and quick to make. I also purchased a boxed set of cook books published by the Gourmet Magazine. This is an older 1971 set, but in fabulous condition. The first thing I will try with my kids is the recipe for cinnamon rolls.
