A Knitter’s Heaven
June 29, 2007 by Melinda
I found the most amazing thing today at the Library Book Sale in my hometown. It is a three ring binder packed from end to end with knitting patterns each in its own plastic sheet protector. I could not believe it when I picked it up. There are patterns for shawls, scarves, socks, mittens and hats, sweaters of every sort, baby blankets… I am in heaven! This must have been someone’s stash of patterns that was donated to the book sale. My husband looked at me as if I lost my mind.
I didn’t find much else to pique my interest after that in the craft section. I did see one book on blackwork, and imagine my surprise, the stitcher had left a practice fabric swatch inside one of the pages. I saw the threads out the side of the book. Pretty neat.
I think I will need to browse through the Patternworks catalog to get reacquainted with specialty yarns again for that pretty shawl…
