Summer Projects
June 28, 2007 by Melinda
Summer can be interesting with kids now that they are off from school. I like to have them start craft projects to work on here and there to help keep them occupied. We took a trip to our library and picked out some books on making puppets with easy-to-follow diagrams. Yesterday we started on the paper mache heads and set them to dry in the hot sun. One is making a rabbit and the other a mouse or a koala (not quite sure yet). I am making a lady. My motive with this project is to have them sew a hand puppet/shirt and add some embellishments like buttons, sequins or easy stitches with colorful threads. As they progress, I’ll add some pictures of their projects.
I was able to get a good start on my mittens yesterday evening as well. I am looking forward to knitting these. I generally try to get a little done either early in the day or later at night when the rest are watching television. I’m not much into TV, I’d rather spend my time doing something fun!
